Spherical purified graphite finished with a carbon coating — the natural-route anode material that lithium-ion cells consume. Commerce's active anode material scope covers it explicitly ('with or without coating'), and U.S. capacity is nascent: a $125 million Bipartisan Infrastructure Law award supports a coated spherical graphite plant in Alabama.
