NorGraph Active Anode Materials Plant (Eyde Material Park, Arendal)

GreenRoc Strategic Materials' planned graphite Active Anode Materials (AAM) plant at Eyde Material Park near Arendal, southern Norway, to be developed through its Norwegian vehicle Norgraph a/s. The project is at the earliest planning stage: on 27 August 2024 GreenRoc announced a Letter of Interest with Otra Holding a/s reserving 100,000 m² in the Longum Nord area for an initial six-month period, and applied for Strategic Project status under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act. The Commission granted that status on 4 June 2025, listing 'Norgraph a/s and Greenland Graphite a/s' as an ongoing integrated extraction and processing project in Norway and Greenland promoted by GreenRoc Strategic Materials Plc. Feedstock is to be flake graphite concentrate from GreenRoc's planned Amitsoq mine in southern Greenland. GreenRoc's own test work is cited for the process route (micronisation and spheronisation to >99.95% purity using a milder alkaline purification method rather than the industry-standard hydrofluoric acid); the company's term for the product is 'cSPG'. No plant capacity, cost, construction date or financing instrument was stated on any source loaded this pass, so none is recorded. The Commission presscorner page named in the coverage manifest is a JavaScript shell and did not load; the official Annex PDF to Commission Decision C(2025) 3491 final was loaded instead.

Planned graphite Active Anode Materials plant

Announced

Planned Active Anode Materials plant on a 100,000 m² reserved plot in the Longum Nord area of Eyde Material Park, to be developed by GreenRoc's Norwegian vehicle Norgraph a/s and fed with flake graphite concentrate from the planned Amitsoq mine in southern Greenland. GreenRoc's stated route, from test work rather than a commissioned flowsheet, is micronisation and spheronisation with an alkaline purification method milder than the industry-standard hydrofluoric acid, producing what the company calls high purity spherical graphite or cSPG at greater than 99.95% purity. No equipment configuration, plant capacity or construction schedule was stated on any source loaded this pass.

Material flow

Natural graphite concentrate → Coated spherical purified graphite (CSPG)

Capacity

No capacity claim. Absence of a figure means no source publishes one.

Qualification

No qualification claim. Status does not imply qualified output.
