PrairiesCan contribution to SRC Rare Earth Processing Facility (bastnaesite acquisition and processing)

On August 14, 2024, the Government of Canada announced $15.96 million CAD from Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) to support the Saskatchewan Research Council's Rare Earth Processing Facility in Saskatoon, enabling bastnaesite acquisition from Canadian sources (ore from Vital Metals Ltd.'s Canadian operations) and integrating bastnaesite processing with solvent extraction and metal smelting.
