DRIVE35 Scale-Up Fund GBP 18.5 Million Grant to Altilium for the ACT3 Plant in Plymouth (April 2026)

Altilium announced on 9 April 2026 that it had secured GBP 18.5 million in grant funding through the UK government's DRIVE35 Scale-Up Fund, funded by the Department for Business and Trade and delivered in partnership with the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK and Innovate UK, to build the ACT3 recycling plant in Plymouth, Devon. ACT3 will process 24,000 EV batteries a year and produce approximately 5,200 tpa of nickel MHP, 8,000 tpa of lithium sulphate (1,000 tpa LCE) and 5,400 tpa of graphite, with construction from summer 2026 and commissioning by the end of 2027.
