Vianode Via TWO Synthetic Graphite Plant, St. Thomas
Vianode's planned synthetic anode graphite plant ("Via TWO") at St. Thomas, Ontario, announced by Invest Ontario on 20 November 2025 as North America's first large-scale, low-emission synthetic graphite plant, with an anticipated $3.2 billion investment by Vianode and total capacity of as many as 150,000 tons of synthetic graphite annually after planned expansions. Ground preparation works are underway to enable start of production in 2028. Ontario's support is stated as still being negotiated: the release says Ontario is negotiating the provision of a loan of up to $670 million, so the line is recorded as announced rather than financed.
