Seongrim Advanced Industry Daegu Magnet Plant

Seongrim Advanced Industry's NdFeB rare earth permanent magnet plant at Daegu Technopolis (Hyeonpung, Dalseong-gun). Investment agreement with Daegu Metropolitan City signed October 2021 (38 billion won); MOTIE announced in October 2023 that the completed plant began Korea's first domestic production of rare earth permanent magnets for EV drive motors, at roughly 1,000 tonnes per year (about 500,000 EVs' worth).
