Lynas USA Seadrift Rare Earths Processing Facility

Lynas Rare Earths' planned U.S. separation plant on a 149-acre greenfield site in Seadrift, Texas, designed to co-locate light and heavy rare earth separation. DoD funded the light circuit via a February 2021 Defense Production Act Title III technology investment agreement ($30.4 million) and the heavy circuit via a June 2022 contract (~$120 million) increased to approximately $258 million in August 2023. As of August 2025 Lynas reported significant uncertainty over whether construction will proceed, pending offtake negotiations; the plant is not under construction.
