Hycamite Kokkola Methane-Pyrolysis Graphite Plant

Hycamite TCD Technologies Ltd splits methane by thermo-catalytic decomposition into low-carbon hydrogen and solid carbon refined to battery-grade graphite at Kokkola Industrial Park, Finland — Kokkola is verified independently of the CRMA annex from Hycamite's own releases (industrial-scale facility in Kokkola; Phase 1 at Kokkola Industrial Park). The project is entry (16) on the EU CRMA first Strategic Projects list (processing, graphite battery grade). Status is early: the July 2025 CMA CGM (PULSE fund) investment release described the industrial-scale Kokkola facility with operations set to begin in 2025, and the company's May 2026 CRMA page stated Phase 1 construction is expected to begin the following year (2027), with up to 200 kilotons of graphite per year claimed possible at full scale — recorded as an assertion, not a capacity claim, because it is a 'could produce up to' figure for an undefined future phase. Modeling compromises: the vocabulary has no methane/gas feedstock token, so the line's input is recorded as graphitizable-carbon-precursor (the pyrolysis carbon formed in-process) and the battery-grade graphite output is mapped to synthetic-anode-material; sources describe the product only as battery-grade graphite and carbon nanoproducts.

Facts on this page last re-verified Aug 12, 2026 — the oldest verification date among its current claims. How we verify.
