EcoGraf Battery Anode Material Facility, Western Australia

EcoGraf Limited's planned HF-free Battery Anode Material (BAM) purification facility in Western Australia, backed by one of the first two loans under the Australian Government's Critical Minerals Facility: a ministerial direction of 1 February 2022 required Export Finance Australia to provide a loan of up to US$40 million to EcoGraf (Australia) Pty Ltd, which the Western Australian Government described the same week as conditional approval to loan up to $56 million to expand the facility, with an initial capacity of 5,000 tonnes per annum and an expansion pathway to 20,000 tonnes per annum. The facility has not been constructed. Two caveats: no source loadable on this pass names the site, although the record is filed under the manifest slug 'ecograf-bam-wa' after reporting elsewhere placed it in the Rockingham-Kwinana Strategic Industrial Area, and EcoGraf's current downstream disclosure states the company 'is currently scoping potential locations for commercial scale' and has built a Product Qualification Plant in Perth. EcoGraf's own website, its June 2026 quarterly activities report and the Export Finance Australia annual report were checked and none of them names Rockingham; the location fields therefore record only what is sourced. Status is left at financed, the last lifecycle transition any loaded source supports.
