Geology

Carbonate-hematite veins with REE flurocarbonates, some radioactive, occur in hematitically-altered hornsfelsed graywacke of Salmon Bay area. Veins range in size, avg 4 feet, traced for hundreds of feet before vegetation or water obscure trace. (Houston and others (1958))
