Geology

…several thin beds of marble are interbedded with the paragneisses and schists that belong to the vast assemblage of metamorphic rocks from the pre-Cambrian Belt series. Crystalline aggregates and disseminated crystals of the radioactive phosphate mineral monazite, occur sporadically within the beds of marble. (Abbott (1954))
